Duckpin Bowling Headed To the Florida Keys!
What is Duckpin Bowling?
Invented in Baltimore in 1900, duckpin bowling became very popular throughout the northeastern United States and parts of Canada. Over a century later the lure of duckpin bowling continues to win many new fans making it a great opportunity for family entertainment.
The duckpin bowling ball is smaller than the traditional bowling ball without the finger holes. They typically weigh approximately 3.5 lbs making them easier to handle. However, the trade off is that there is less surface area to knock down the pins, which are smaller than the traditional bowling pins.
Although there are highly regulated and competitive leagues associated with Duckpin bowling, here at Pinfish Entertainment we offer a wide variety of bowling experiences through our interactive game selections suitable for all skill levels.
Our lanes are the same width as traditional lanes with gutters there to keep things interesting. Gutter guards are available to keep less skilled bowlers having fun. The Duckpin bowling lanes at Pinfish Entertainment are much shorter in length than traditional bowling lanes.
You may notice some variety in our pins. There are two versions of the pins here at Pinfish Entertainment, the hard duck and soft duck. The main difference to notice is the rubber band around the rubber duck. This rubber helps keep the noise down and provides a different action with the pins making it easier to score. The hard duck provides more of a traditional pin action and is a little more challenging.
