Duckpin Bowling
Duckpin bowling is a variation of bowling that uses smaller balls and pins than ten-pin bowling. The balls are about the size of grapefruits and have no finger holes. The pins are about the size of ducks, hence the name of the game. Duckpin bowling is a popular activity in New England and the Mid-Atlantic states.
The rules of duckpin bowling are similar to the rules of ten-pin bowling. Players roll three balls per frame, and the goal is to knock down all of the pins with as few balls as possible. Strikes and spares are scored the same way as in ten-pin bowling. A strike is when all ten pins are knocked down with the first ball, and a spare is when all ten pins are knocked down with two balls. If all ten pins are knocked down in three rolls, it is scored as a ten, as in candlepins, with no bonus. If pins are still standing after the third ball, the bowler gets one point for each pin knocked down.
Duckpin bowling is a fun and challenging activity for people of all ages. It is a great way to get some exercise and have fun with friends and family.
